Sandra J. Kurt has been an activist for GLBT equality since she came out 27 years ago (with a short hiatus when she lived in Oklahoma and Alabama in the late 1980’s). Sandra was active in the nonpartisan Stonewall Akron in the mid-1990’s. She was a founding board member and later co-chair of the original Out in Akron from the years 1997 – 2001. Sandra has been active in Summit County Progressive Democrats since mid-2005 and is currently Vice-President.
Sandra has utilized her Industrial Engineering education in her career of 22 years with a major corporation headquartered in Akron. She lives with her outlaw wife Tina Jarosch in the Highland Square neighborhood with their four cats.
