Shelley McConnell is the Stonewall Democrats of Summit County Recording Secretary. She has been active in Akron area gay and lesbian and feminist organizations since 1994. She has served on the boards of Stonewall Akron, Akron Area NOW, Take Back the Night, and The Women's History Project. She was also on the founding board of the original Out in Akron festival. Shelley resides in Firestone Park and is a graduate of the University of Akron School of Law and Kent State University
