Metro SCAT
Public transportation is critical to the health and economic development of Summit County . Thousands of residents rely on METRO and SCAT services to get to work, health care appointments, and other necessary transportation requirements. METRO has not had a new tax issue since 1990 and has shown fiscal responsibility by cutting 30% in services, cutting 58 employees, freezing wages for 3 of the last 4 years, doubling SCAT fares, and increasing regular bus services fares by 60%. Stonewall Democrats of Summit County believe that Summit County can not allow these services to be curtailed even further and encourage all voters to vote for Issue 8.
